Peshawar:
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, while addressing office-bearers of the Peoples Students Federation (PSF) and Peoples Youth Khyber, said that the Pakistan Peoples Party is a truly public-oriented political party. He stated that whenever the party was given an opportunity to serve the people, both citizens and government officials viewed its leadership as a “saviour” for resolving public issues.
The Governor said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a province rich in natural resources, including gas, water, minerals, and hydropower potential. He added that once regional stability is achieved and tensions between the United States and Iran ease, global attention will shift towards this region, making Pakistan—particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa—a key center of importance.
He stressed that peace is essential for the development and prosperity of the province. “Where there is peace, business grows, investment comes in, and young people get better employment and development opportunities,” he remarked.
Faisal Karim Kundi further said that he will hold talks with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to increase the quota for laptop schemes for students in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and will also engage with the federal government to ensure maximum opportunities for the province’s youth under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.
He said that the youth of PSF and PPP Youth are a valuable asset not only for the Pakistan Peoples Party but for the entire province. He urged students to focus on education, particularly technical and vocational training, as they will be the future leaders of the country.
He also assured that the Governor House will extend full support for improving health and education facilities across the province, addressing youth issues, and promoting positive activities. He added that the merged districts, Khyber, and Kurram have already been provided assistance through the Red Crescent, and that 1,300 families in Khyber were given financial aid of Rs. 38,000 per family with support from international donors.
Speaking at the convention, PPP Provincial Deputy General Secretary Malik Saeed, District President Khyber Sher Shah Afridi, and PSF President Naveed Afridi also addressed the gathering.
