Islamabad: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi visited the Press Information Department (PID) Islamabad, accompanied by Pakistan Peoples Party Central Secretary Information Nadeem Afzal Chan. Upon arrival, they were welcomed by Principal Information Officer (PIO) Mubashir Hassan, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
During the visit, the Governor was given a comprehensive briefing on the functions, performance, and various departments of the Press Information Department. Officials also highlighted the institution’s role in effectively communicating government policies and promoting Pakistan’s national narrative at both domestic and international levels.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi appreciated the Press Information Department’s effective performance in line with modern communication requirements. He said that the Ministry of Information and its affiliated institutions are rendering valuable services in safeguarding national interests and ensuring the timely dissemination of accurate information.
The Governor further stated that the Ministry of Information deserves recognition for its efforts in countering negative and misleading narratives against Islam and the State of Pakistan. He particularly praised the role played by PID and its affiliated organizations during Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos, describing their response to Indian propaganda at both national and international levels as exemplary. He paid tribute to PIO Mubashir Hassan and his team for their professional and dynamic performance.
During the briefing, PIO Mubashir Hassan informed the Governor that a Digital Cell is also being established in Peshawar. Governor Faisal Karim Kundi welcomed the initiative, emphasizing that digital dominance is essential in the modern era and that the decision would yield long-term positive results.
He concluded by saying that the institutions under the Ministry of Information have played a crucial role in protecting national interests, providing fact-based information, and effectively presenting Pakistan’s perspective to the international community.
